Living Room Christmas Tour

This is our first Christmas in our first home and I could explode from EXCITEMENT! I’m almost done with my Christmas decor throughout the house and it feels so magical.

Here’s a quick tour of my living room Christmas decor…

Our entryway is fairly narrow, but two flocked trees bring the Christmas touch all the way to the front door. They were just the right size for the small space.

Mantle: fullsizeoutput_330

I keep a basket of cozy blankets year round, but the deer as small flocked tree added a winter feel to the fireplace.

I added these simple “Joy” charms and small greenery pieces to my stockings to create a little contrast on the all white mantle.

The key to a Christmas tree that looks full and detailed is RIBBON, RIBBON, RIBBON. From a distance my tree appears packed full of ornaments, but in reality the open spaces are filled with pieces of different wide-wired ribbon tucked into the branches.

My other favorite part of decorating a tree is the top. I like to add tons and tons of sticks from the top to add height without having to purchase a massive tree. I also add an “anchor” piece to the top, like these large feather-tailed birds.

Nativity Set & Shelf Styling:

Our Christmas Nativity set is one of my most treasured wedding gifts and it adds a nice sentimental touch to my floating shelves for the season, without completely redecorating them.

Again, the key to full and fabulous garland is the RIBBON! I use green floral wire to attach it to the garland and wire in a few Christmas balls to give it a finishing touch.
